New Yorkers sound off on police and community relations at a City
Council forum, which was aired Thursday night on New York 1.
Participants discussed both the current state of police community relations and looked at what can be done to improve them.
Both police and community members were represented, and each side shared their concerns about the current state of relations.
Patrolmen's Benevolent Association President Pat Lynch argued morale is declining among New York's Finest. Lynch also emphasized that one way to improve relations would be to end arrests quotas, emphasizing quality of arrests over quantity.
