Officer Buried Following Fatal Accident

New York's Finest said goodbye to one of their own Wednesday as Officer David Regan is laid to rest in New Hyde Park, Long Island.

The 28-year-old officer died instantly in an accident in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn Sunday.

Police say Regan and his partner were responding to an emergency call when a New York Post truck, driven by Jacques Lavache, struck their patrol car at an intersection.

Lavache died a short time later.

Regan's partner, Kenneth Waszak, is at Lutheran Hospital recovering from a fractured spine.
