Re: Jalil Muntaquim

Jalil Muntaquim, who took part 31 years ago in the cold-blooded assassination of New York City Police Officers Waverly Jones and Joseph Piagentini, comes before the state parole board in July. Incredibly, there are people out there agitating for his release.

This was one of the most infamous cop killings in NYPD history and part of a nationwide wave of murders of police officers by the Black Panthers and other so-called black militants. With two others on the night of May 12, 1971, Muntaquin, then called Anthony Bottom, ambushed these police officers, killing Officer Jones quickly with four gunshots and Officer Piagentini slowly and cruelly with 13 gunshots.

It is very important that as many of you as possible, as well as your family members and friends, contact the parole board to voice your strong opposition to the miscarriage of justice the release of this unrepentant cop-killer.
