To All Delegates and Members

I am pleased to inform you that Mubarak Abdul-Jabbar has been appointed as 2nd Vice President to fill the position soon to be vacated by John Loud.

Mr. Abdul-Jabbar, or A.J., as he is known by his many friends here at PBA headquarters and in the field, brings vast experience as a police officer, delegate and financial secretary to the position. He has held virtually every position in this union from that of alternate delegate to chairman of the board of directors.

While he will have a tough job to fill the shoes of John Loud, I know that he will continue to work hard for all of our members and will be a strong and steady influence on the future of our union.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank John Loud for his hard work and loyalty to the members of this great union and for his 30 years of service to the people of the City of New York as he plans his future beyond the NYPD and the PBA. He will be sorely missed by all who have known him as a police officer, PBA executive officer and as a friend.
