In addition to the above list, we are informed that as of January
30, 2003, the Department had received approximately 1,581 bullet
resistant vests for its reserve supply. The reserve supply is available
to police officers awaiting the arrival of their replacement vests.
As we announced previously, if you are unable to secure a suitable
replacement vest, you are not required to perform enforcement functions.
We are told that you will be notified when your vest is available
to be picked up at the Police Academy. We urge you to inspect your
vest to ensure that it fits before accepting it.
Fraternally,
Patrick J. Lynch
