Through recent communications I have informed you
of a number of significant benefit enhancements that were recently
implemented for both active and retiree welfare funds of the PBA.
Last month I provided you with the 2003 PBA Dental Schedule of Allowances
that reflects the recent increase enacted to both funds. This new
schedule of allowances is one which enables us to provide you with
a greater reimbursement when you choose a non-participating dentist.
Additionally, it allows us to enroll a greater number of quality
participating dentists into our panel, as well as retain those that
have already gained your trust.
Over the past months, the PBA Funds Office has had
great success in increasing our participating
dental panel. The reaction to our enhanced dental schedule was
very well received in the dental community and, as such, we are
able to report that the PBA has more than doubled its participating
dental provider panel. We now have over 1,000 participating dentists
in nearly 800 locations across the New York metropolitan region,
including participants in New Jersey and Connecticut.
Enclosed please find your new 2003 PBA Participating
Dental Provider Directory. These participating dentists accept our
reimbursement as payment in full and offer the comprehensive dental
benefits you and your family deserve. I know you will be pleased
with the results of our recruitment efforts. A map that graphically
represents where we have participating dental providers in the Tri-State
area has also been included.
As always, we thank you for your continued cooperation,
confidence and support and invite you to contact our Funds Office
at (212) 349-7560, should you have any questions or if we may be
of further assistance to you.
Fraternally,
Patrick J. Lynch
President
