Heroes StampThere is a fund totaling over $10 million dollars – which will be divided equally among the claimants deemed to be eligible -- to the families of personnel killed or disabled in the line of duty in connection with the attacks of September 11, 2001. These funds were raised specifically for those families through the Heroes Stamp Act. In order to collect from this program, the disabled officer or the family of deceased officers must apply.

Individuals or families can apply for the grant monies by accessing the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s website at: www.usfa.fema.gov/heroesstamp/

Applications must be filed no later than 1700 hours on April 3, 2006.

We encourage any police officer who was injured during the 9-11 attacks or the families of officers who died that day to apply immediately. Requests for more information or questions should be directed to:

Mr. Al Conners; Department of Homeland Security; 1-866-887-9107 or 1-301-447-7265, or email him at al.conners@dhs.gov.

Fraternally,

Patrick J. Lynch
