March 5, 2007 Re: 2006 LODI Reimbursements We have been told by the Office of Payroll Administration ("OPA") that FICA taxes should not have been withheld from police officers' checks in calendar year 2006 during periods of authorized Line of Duty Leave.According to OPA, FICA overpayments will be paid to affected officers in the March 23rd payroll and will be added to their net pay. We were also told that the W-2 forms received by affected officers in or about January 2007 reflect the correct amount of FICA withholdings, not the amounts reflected on their year end.
