1. A5428 (Abbate) Hazardous Duty Pay - Special Fund to provide up to $100 million annually to provide salary increases for New York City Police Officers and Firefighters.  Assembly - 02/23/05 - referred to governmental employees.

9. A6512 (Abbate) - Police cadet pension credit  - Allows members of the New York City police pension fund to obtain retirement credit for certain service in the New York police department cadet corps.  Assembly - 3/16/05 - referred to governmental employees.

18. S276 (Maltese) Election rights - Allows members of the New York City police department to hold any additional place of public trust or be elected to public office; repealer.  Senate - 1/11/05 - referred to Cities.

25. A6343 (Lentol); S 3487 (Spara) - requires use of an independent hearing officer for a hearing whereby a public employee represented by an employee organization may be discharged.  Assembly - 3/10/05 - referred to governmental employees; Senate 3/18/05 - Referred to Civil Service and Pensions.

26. S937 (Balboni) - Establishes the crime of aggravated harassment of a police officer or peace officer; makes such an offense a class E felony and makes provisions for members of a police officer’s or peace officer’s immediate family.

29. S197 (Trunzo); A5573 (Eddington) - Provides that certain accidental death benefits may be paid to dependent parents of deceased members of police and fire retirement system. Senate -1/10/05 Referred to Civil Service and Pensions; Assembly - 2/24/05 - referred to governmental employees.

30. A5217 (Markey); S3971 (Padavan) - Increases certain special accidental death benefits for surviving spouses and children of certain police and fire personnel.  Assembly - 4/19/05 Reported referred to ways and means; Senate - 4/18/05 - Advanced to Third Reading.

31. A4249 (Abbate); S2165 (Robach) - Heat bill extender extends the right of public employees and public employers to negotiate for retirement benefits not requiring approval by act of the legislature; extends certain temporary benefits and supplementation programs until July 1, 2007. 32. S1941 (Golden) - Provides that police officers may accept other positions as volunteers as long as it does not interfere with their duties. Senate - 3/02/05 - passed Senate; delivered to Assembly; referred to local governments.

33. A3956 (Pretlow) - Makes provisions regarding the unlawful sale of law enforcement identification.  Assembly - 2/07/05 - referred to economic development.

34. A5578 (Lafayette) - Makes intentional refusal to heed and obey a police or peace officer who is identified or identifiable as such a violation punishable by up to 10 days in jail or a $500 fine, or both.  Assembly - 02/24/05 - referred to codes.

35. A5777 (Abbate); S2938 (Maltese) - extends Tier I retirement status to all police officers or firefighters who are members of a public retirement system of the state or a municipality thereof regardless of the date on which such members joined such retirement system.  Assembly - 3/01/05 - referred to government employees; Senate - 3/01/05 - referred to Civil Service and Pensions.

36. A6517 (Abbate) - Makes permanent the provisions of law establishing dispute resolution during collective negotiations.  Assembly - 3/16/05 - referred to governmental employees.

38. S3208 (Maziarz) - Increases the penalties for criminal impersonation in the first and second degrees and for criminal sale of a police uniform.  3/10/05 - referred to Codes.

S3822 (Volker) - Enacts the “Police Officer Vincent Guidice Memorial Act”; relates to committing offenses that cause the death of a peace officer, police officer, firefighter, emergency medical service paramedic or emergency medical service technician, traffic enforcement agent or public officer or public employee performing school safety or security duties.  Senate - 3/31/05 - referred to Codes.
