P.O. Gerard L. Carter

Police Officer Gerard L. Carter, 28, of the NYPD Staten Island Housing Unit, passed away July 31, 1998 at 1:06 a.m. at St. Vincent's Hospital on Staten Island.

He was arrested Monday morning and is now being held without bail on Rikers Island.

Johnson has also done time on a manslaughter conviction for beating a homeless man to death when he was 15.
