P.O. Ronald Kloepfer

Fallen at the World Trade Center

Police Officer Ronald P. Kloepfer, 39, was appointed to the NYPD on January 3, 1983, and began his career on patrol in Neighborhood Stabilization Unit 18. He served in the 73 Precinct before being transferred to ESU in 1988.

His interests included camping with his family, skiing and hunting. But his greatest passion was lacrosse: he loved the sport so much that in 1997, with the help of the Patrolman's Benevolent Association. He was instrumental In forming an NYPD lacrosse team.

He is survived by his wife Dawn; children Casey, Jamie and Taylor; mother Janet; sisters Jill, Kim and Wendy; and brothers Christopher, Michael and Robert.
