P.O. Thomas Langone
Fallen at the World Trade Center

Police Officer Thomas M. Langone, 39, was appointed to the NYPD on January 3, 1983, and began his career on patrol in Neighborhood Stabilization Unit 15. He served in the 45 and 103 Precincts before being assigned to ESU in July 1991.
A graduate of Nassau Community College, he held the rank of Second Assistant Chief with the Roslyn Rescue Fire Company, where he was also the department's training officer. In addition, he served as the Second Deputy Chief Instructor at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy since 1993. Over the years he was honored for his work at the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the Oklahoma City bombing, and the crash of Avianca Flight 52.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn; children Caitlin and Brian; mother Sheila; and sisters Joann and Rosemarie. His brother Peter, a New York City firefighter assigned to Engine Co. 262, was also killed in the World Trade Center incident.
