Sgt. Timothy Roy

Fallen at the World Trade Center

Sergeant Timothy A, Roy, 36, was appointed to the NYPD on July 8, 1985, and began his career on patrol in Neighborhood Stabilization Unit 13. He was promoted to sergeant in March 1991, and assigned to the Traffic Control Division in November 1995. He also worked In the 68, 71 and 73 Precincts.

Sergeant Roy, who loved the outdoors, took family vacations as often as possible. He also had a passion for golf and maintained an 18 handicap.

He is survived by his wife Stacey; children Brittany, Caitlyn and Timothy Jr.; mother Ida Mae; sister Linda; and brothers James, an active firefighter; Doug and John, both of whom are retired firefighters; Gary, a retired Housing Police officer; and Kenny. His late father Kenneth was a retired FDNY firefighter.
