PBA HotlineOctober 5, 2002

Hello. This is Pat Lynch, president of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association.

After pressing the city to move quickly, the city has informed us that the new salary rates adjusted for the recent PERB award will be reflected in our October 11 paycheck.

The retroactive money, according to the city, including the adjustments for overtime, will be paid in the November 22 paycheck.

Also, in the October 25 paycheck, you will receive another 2.5% increase take-home pay. This is not a result of the PERB decision, but is a benefit the PBA won for you through prior negotiations and legislation through the state legislature that goes into effect with this contract. ITHP is also effective on October 25.

The PBA is currently negotiating the use of the 1.5% additional compensation awarded by PERB and will keep you advised of that progress.

We have already forwarded our letter to New York City demanding to start negotiations for our next round. Updates on the new negotiations will be provided to you through your Trustees, Delegates, the newsletter, the PBA website, and of course the PBA hotline.

Thank you for taking the time to call the PBA hotline.
