PBA HotlineMarch 12, 2003

Hello, this is Pat Lynch, President of the New York City Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association.

Once again, two brother officers have made the ultimate sacrifice in our battle to keep New York City safe.

Detectives James V. Nemorin and Rodney J. Andrews, both seven-year veterans of the NYPD, were executed during an undercover gun buy on Staten Island.

They are heroes who made a great contribution to the safety of our streets by risking their lives to get illegal guns and gun dealers off our streets.

The PBA is asking all its members to turn out for the funerals of these heroic men.

A strong turnout will be a demonstration of respect for our fallen brothers and will send a strong message to all potential cop killers that when one police officer is attacked, it is a personal attack on all members of the NYPD.

Funeral details will be announced on this hotline and on the PBA website as soon as they become available.

Out of respect to Detectives Nemorin and Andrews, no other business will be discussed on this hotline until after their funerals.

This is Pat Lynch. Please try to join me and your PBA officials as we honor these fallen heroes.

Thank you for calling the PBA hotline.
