PBA HotlineJuly 7, 2003

Hello, this is John Puglissi, first vice president of the New York City Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association. Thanks for calling the PBA Hotline.

As we approach the heart of family vacation season, be aware that there are discounts available to help you save money as you take your family on that well-deserved vacation.

The PBA can provide you with information about discounts for attractions like Universal Studios; Busch Gardens; Sesame Place as well as for cruises and rental cars.

To obtain a PBA vacation discount information packet, call 212-233-5531 and ask the operator for the vacation packet. The PBA will mail the packet to your home.

The first 10,000 free gunlocks donated by Project Childsafe have been distributed. We are told that the remaining 22,000 locks are on order and will be delivered by Project Childsafe as soon as they receive them from the manufacturer. They expect the order to take about three months to fill.

Project Childsafe has also agreed to provide a free gunlock to each police officer who graduates from the July 2003 class. We expect to distribute those to our new members when they receive their guns and shield in December.

This is John Puglissi. Thanks for calling the PBA Hotline.
