PBA HotlineMay 20, 2004

Hello. This is Pat Lynch, President of the New York City Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association.

On June 8th, the PBA will be holding a joint rally at City Hall Park as part of our strategy for a fair and decent contract.

It is mandatory for every New York City PBA member available to attend this rally if we want our message to be heard.

Muster time at City Hall Park will be 1630 hours. You are encouraged to bring your family members and friends to show support of our need for a fair and decent livable wage.

On the Contract Front:

On May 14th PERB declared our negotiations with the City at impasse.

Since that time, PERB has appointed a mediator between the PBA and the City in an attempt to come to terms on a new contract. If the mediation is unsucessful, then PERB will assemble a three-person panel for binding arbitration hearings.

We will keep you informed as developments occur and you are encouraged to visit the PBA website.

Once again, we hope to see you on June 8th at City Hall Park at 1630 hours. We must have a good turnout for this rally to be successful. And thanks for calling the PBA hotline.
