PBA HotlineApril 22, 2005

Hello. This is Pat Lynch, president of the New York City Patrolmen's Benevolent Association.

Arbitration and Our Contract

There has been no decision from the PERB panel regarding our contract. While rumors run hot and heavy, be advised that they are just that, rumors not based on any fact. Be sure that when a decision is made, the PBA will do everything possible to get the details to you as quickly as possible and once again, I thank you for your patience in this process.

Cop Killer Probation

I am delighted to report that cop killer Bruce Lorick who shot transit police officer Joseph Keegan on June 19, 1980 has been denied parole.

It is only through the support of our members, the petitions you sign, stories in the media, and the painful testimony of the family left behind that we are successful in preventing the release of this cold-blooded cop killer.

Unfortunately, we will be calling upon you again in the upcoming months to help us prevent another cop killer from being paroled. Your hard work and support is greatly appreciated by the families of these fallen heroes by your union and, of course, by your fellow officers.

Thank you for calling the PBA Hotline.
