Hello, this is Joseph Alejandro, Treasurer of the New York City
Patrolmen's Benevolent Association. Thanks for calling the PBA Hotline.
The PBA was notified on August 15 that the Department has changed
the distribution of back pay/overtime and night shift differential
pay for retirees
The following information is for retirees only.
Members who retired in 2005 and submitted night differential on
a monthly basis, your check for the rate increase back pay/overtime
and the night differential was sent to your last command in the
August 12th payroll.
Members who retired in 2005 on a steady chart, your rate increase
check went to your last command in the August 12th payroll and an
additional check for night differential will be at your last command
in the August 26th payroll. All members who retired in 2005 who
are trying to locate their checks should contact their last command
before calling the NYPD Payroll section.
Retired members who left prior to 2005 and submitted their night
differential on a monthly basis will have all rate increase and
night differential back pay/overtime sent to their last mailing
address by certified mail, return receipt requested. The department
expects to have those checks mailed by Friday, August 19th.
Retired members who left prior to 2005 and were in a steady chart
will receive two checks, one for rate increase, back pay/overtime
and a second for night differential sent to their last home address
in one certified mail, return receipt requested envelope. The department
expects to have those checks in the mail by Friday, Sept. 2nd.
Retired members may also pick up their checks in person by presenting
their Retired ID card at room 1018 of One Police Plaza. Please be
aware that some checks may have already been mailed.
