Hello this is Pat Lynch, president of the New York City Patrolmen’s
Benevolent Association.
Guilty Verdict
On Thursday, Feb. 2nd, a jury in Brooklyn supreme court
delivered a guilty verdict against the killer of detectives Robert
Parker and Patrick Rafferty. We expect that at sentencing this cold
blooded cop killer will be sentenced to life without parole. The
PBA would like to express its appreciation to Brooklyn district
attorney office and his staff for their hard work on this case and
to the jury who showed the courage to come down with the right and
just decision.
Port Authority Rollovers
The PBA has secured the services of a law firm to represent
all MOS who were called to roll over to the Port Authority Police
Department but were held by the NYPD’s refusal to provide
employment records. Any police officer who has not signed up as
a complainant in this case should contact attorney Richard Steer
at 212-481-8585. We expect to go to court shortly on this case and
will keep you apprised of the decisions.
Police Funerals
There have been far too many funerals in the past few months.
But at each and everyone of them i have been proud to stand in a
long line of members in uniform to show our final respect to fallen
members. I’d like to extend my personal thanks to all of you
who have made an effort to attend these solemn ceremoinies. It means
a great deal to the family of our fallen police officers and also
sends a strong message to all who watch that we stand united for
our members who make the ultimate sacrifice.
Thank you for calling the PBA Hotline.
