PBA HotlineMarch 7, 2006

Hello, This is Bob Zink, Recording Secretary for the NYC Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association. Thank you for calling the PBA Hotline.

On Monday, March 13, the killers of Police Officer Daniel Enchautegui have a court date in Bronx Supreme Court. We would encourage as many members as possible to attend to send a message that there will be a heavy price to pay for anyone who attacks a NYC police officer. Report at 1330 hours to Bronx Supreme Court located at 851 Grand Concourse at 161st Street.

Update on Port Authority Records Suit

The PBA enjoyed its second victory in the legal wrestling with the NYPD over the release of personnel records to the Port aAuthority Police.

Despite a public appeal from Pat Lynch for the department to abandon this bad policy, the city has indicated that it is appealing.

Their appeal automatically stays the injunction, so the bottom line is that there won’t be any release of personnel records until there is a decision from the court of appeals.

On the positive side, we now have a solid court decision supporting our argument. We’ll keep you informed as this legal fight progresses.

This is Bob Zink. Thanks for calling the PBA Hotline.
