R.I.P. Det. Steven McDonald — Funeral Information

January 10, 2017

There is no group of men and women who care about this city as much as the men and women of the New York City Police Department… I hoped I would be able to live up to its tradition of courage and compassion. I hope that I have.”
- P.O. Steven McDonald, 1987

Dear PBA Member,

As you are likely aware, Det. Steven McDonald passed away earlier today. Det. McDonald embodied all that is good and noble about our profession, and few have done more to support New York City police officers than he did. Over the past 30 years, no matter the challenges he faced, he turned out time and again to offer his encouragement and to serve as an inspiration to all of us. Now it is our turn to support his family and offer a final salute to a true American hero, one of the greatest to ever wear our uniform. Details regarding viewing and funeral services can be found below.
