TO ALL MEMBERS AND DELEGATES

From the PBA Tellers' Committee

As we recently informed you, the election process for all positions on the PBA’s executive board has commenced. As per the PBA Constitution & By-Laws ("the By-Laws"), all candidates were required to submit nominating petitions at the regular May delegates' meeting.

Yesterday, the PBA Tellers' Committee – which, in accordance with the By-Laws, is composed of two randomly selected delegates from each borough/bureau – met to review the submitted petitions and certify that:

  1. Each candidate meets the requirements for office set forth in the By-Laws, and;
  2. Each nominating petition bears the required number of valid delegate signatures.

Based on our review, the Tellers' Committee has certified the candidates listed below. For the contested election for Transit Financial Secretary, balloting will be conducted among Transit members only. The winning candidate in that election will assume office along with the unopposed candidates when the new executive board term commences on July 1, 2023.

As per the By-Laws, the Tellers' Committee has also set the dates for the distribution and return of Transit election ballots. Ballots will be mailed out by the American Arbitration Association to all Transit members' home addresses on Friday, May 19th, 2023. Completed ballots must be received by the American Arbitration Association by 0900 hours on Friday, June 9th, 2023 in order to be counted. Instruction for completing and returning ballots will be included in each Transit members' ballot package.

All members are reminded to update their home address information with the PBA to ensure that you receive voting information and other critical information from the union and Health & Welfare Funds.  A Change of Address form is available on this website.

Fraternally,
