On WCBS,
a video shows accused cop killer Alan Cameron's girl friend
testifying he had a gun on the incident. Lynch calls
the testimony "huge." Pat Lynch's photo and quotes
appear in an article in The
Chief about the department charging NYPD rookies for night-sights
and their guns: "The weapons issued to new police officers
should be fully equipped to meet department standards at no
additional cost to the officer. It¹s just another reason
that nearly 1,000 trained and experienced officers quit the
NYPD each year for jobs with better pay, better benefits and
better all-around treatment." Lynch is also criticized
in a Chief editorial for
what the newspaper calls his "delaying
tactics" in
the contract negotiations.

Web site insults. America¹s greatness lies in the tolerance

executed in a terrorist country." The PBA runs a full-page

Pat Lynch¹s photo appears twice in The Chief-Leader and he is quoted in three articles, one about the PERB ruling that the length of tours is a mandatory subject of collective bargaining, another about the department offering police officers free exam preparation courses for the sergeants test, and the third about the nomination of Eric Schmertz as a member of the PERB board being bottled up in a State Senate committee: "This (the PERB ruling on tours) reopens the door for negotiations that can bring a modern chart system to the NYPD that can benefit both the city and its police officers." On the sergeants test preps: "The best way to fill the sergeant ranks with qualified people is to attract the best people to become police officers, and that is not happening because top pay is not competitive." On the Schmertz delay: "The DEA, LBA and CEA are doing the city¹s bidding by opposing the nomination of Eric Schmertz, who has a long history of fairly applying the state¹s labor laws. In the face of a civilian settlement of zero and three percent over two years, Mr. Schmertz awarded the PBA 10.25 percent over the same period, paying police well over $100 million more in salary and benefits than they would have gotten under the civilian settlement." |
