The September 11 Victim Compensation Fund (the VCF), which provides monetary compensation for those who were killed, injured or made ill by the 9/11 terror attacks, is in trouble. Currently, the VCF is running out of money and some registrants for the program are facing benefit cuts of as much as 70%.
Legislation currently pending before Congress would provide permanent funding for the VCF and keep it open until 2090.
We urge you to send a letter to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, urging them to cosponsor S.546, the “Never Forget the Heroes Act.” Passage by the Senate Judiciary Committee is the first step to get this critical program renewed.
