PRESS RELEASE

March 19, 2015

Federal court rules unions should be heard before changes are made by the Federal Monitor

Federal court in the US Southern District rules that union’s voices should be heard and considered in a process before any changes are mandated by the appointed Federal Monitor.  Read the decision

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“We are pleased that the court recognized the important role of the PBA in the process and provided for the input of the union prior to any final decisions regarding implementation are made by the monitor.  We will continue to be closely involved in the process, and will invoke all of union’s rights, including those that were recognized by the appellate court, in the event that the union’s lawful interests are impacted in the process.”
