Philip Repaci      Philip Repaci, Brooklyn North Trustee

Philip Repaci, the newly elected PBA trustee from Brooklyn North, followed in his father’s footsteps in becoming a New York City police officer. He also emulated his father by serving the citizens of Brooklyn North.

The younger Repaci, a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, was appointed in 1992 and wasted no time in making his mark — he won a PBA “Cop of the Month” award in his first year on the job for arresting a perp who had kidnapped a police officer’s wife.

He has promoted the welfare of his fellow cops by demonstrating his devotion not only to police work but also to the police union. He was an active delegate in Brooklyn North before being elected to the PBA executive board by an overwhelming majority in the elections last June.

“It’s great to be working with such a dedicated group of individuals as the PBA board members,” Philip says. “In my new position — with its added responsibilities — I will continue to fight for the rights and respect of police officers. I represent the hardest working police officers in the world, and they deserve no less than the best we have to give them.”

Philip has been a proud and active member of the Columbia Association for over 11 years.

Desmond Stafford, Manhattan North Trustee

Desmond Stafford, the newly elected trustee from Manhattan North, has indelible ties to the area he has patrolled for so many years and whose police officers he represents so ably. He was born and raised in the Yorkville section of Manhattan North and continues to live there with his wife Diane and daughters Megan, 11, and Lauren, 9.

His police career has also been devoted to the area. After his appointment in July 1985, he was assigned to NSU 4 and, upon completion of his training, to the 20 Pct. in July 1986. In June 1994, he was transferred to the Manhattan North Task Force and then, in March 2001, to the 34 Pct.

He began his PBA career in 1995 when he was appointed a delegate from the MNTF. After being transferred to the 34, he was elected a delegate from that command.

Desmond has been a member of the NYPD Emerald Society for over 18 years, serving on its board since 1994 and as its First Vice President since 2002.
