On Dec. 10, the PBA, SBA and DEA remembered the families of hero police officers who gave their lives on 9/11 at a holiday-season luncheon at the Water Club.

As a lasting symbol of their loved one’s sacrifice, spouses and parents of the 23 police officers, sergeants and detectives who died saving others in the World Trade Center terrorist attacks received the “Symbol of Peace,” a hand-painted porcelain Lladro sculpture depicting two white doves lifting to the heavens an American flag.

“The holiday season is a time when we feel the loss of our loved ones more deeply than ever,” said PBA President Patrick J. Lynch. “It is only fitting that we commemorate these heroic officers’ place in history in joyful seasons like these. What they have done for us should be celebrated forever.”
