Our nation’s
law enforcement officers sacrifice for this country on a daily basis.
In 1984, the non-profit National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund was
established to recognize the contributions of law enforcement to this
great country. Initially, the Fund raised more than $12 million to
create a tremendous monument in Washington D.C. honoring the law enforcement
profession and its 17,500 professionals who gave the ultimate sacrifice
in the performance of their duties. The New York City Patrolmen’s
Benevolent Association was a major contributor to that effort.
A new
campaign has now been launched to build the National Law Enforcement
Museum, in Washington D.C., which will be the largest museum in the
world dedicated to Law Enforcement. As one of the nation’s leaders
in law enforcement, the New York City Patrolmen’s Benevolent
Association has again pledged our support to build a lasting and appropriate
tribute to the important work our nation’s law enforcement community
carries out each and everyday. We thank everyone who has supported
our efforts to honor the men and women who have served this country
so well.
