In the top photo, taken in 1955, Murello is the cop on the right who is holding the sign (the guy on the left, also holding the sign, was his partner, Dave Ashkenazy). Ashkenazy and Murello also play leading roles in the bottom picture, also from 1955, captured by a Daily News photographer after the officers corralled some veal parmegiano on-the-hoof that escaped from a Brooklyn slaughterhouse.
