STATEMENT ON CLEMENCY FOR COP KILLER

New York City Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association president Patrick J. Lynch said: “It is beyond outrageous for a sitting City Council member to stand on the steps of City Hall and call for clemency for a cop killer. Joanne Chesimard killed a New Jersey State Trooper in cold blood, was convicted of that crime and fled to Cuba to escape imprisonment. She is a domestic terrorist who should be returned to the United States where she can pay the penalty for this cold blooded murder.”
