NYC PBA PRESIDENT REACTS
TO THE VERDICT IN THE MURDERS OF DETECTIVES PARKER AND RAFFERTY
“We are gratified by this guilty verdict and we thank the
jury who had the courage to weigh the evidence and come to a unanimous
decision. I can’t help wonder though, if New York State had
an active death penalty if Detectives Parker and Rafferty would
be alive today. The law must instill a fear of swift and harsh punishment
in order to be an effective deterrent to violent criminal acts.”
