PBA REACTS TO DISMISSAL OF QUEENS SUPREME COURT JUDGE LAURA BLACKBURNE

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“The NY State Court of Appeals has done the people of New York City a great service by permanently removing Laura Blackburne, a notorious cop-hater, from the Queens Supreme Court bench. In their decision they found that Blackburne’s ‘…rash and reckless decision to release onto the street a suspected violent felon potentially posed a danger to the public’ and that her ‘dangerous actions exceeded all measure of acceptable judicial conduct.’ The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association and its 50,000 active and retired members salute the NY State Court of Appeals for this courageous decision. As a judge, Laura Blackburne was a blemish on the outstanding record of service provided to this city by all those who serve on the bench with honor and dignity.”
