PBA PRESIDENT DEMANDS
APOLOGY FROM BLOOMBERG

In response to Mayor Bloomberg’s statement that deceased detective James Zadroga is “not a hero” PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“Every man and women who straps on a gun and vest to place themselves between crime and the community earns the designation of hero. Detective James Zadroga dedicated his life to making this city safe facing risks and dangers every day of his career and spent over 400 hours working at ground zero, only to lose his life from toxic exposure there. For Bloomberg to tarnish the reputation and memory of a man who was a hero by nature is despicable. We demand that Mayor Bloomberg make an immediate apology to the Zadroga family and to the members of the NYPD who he insulted with his baseless and insensitive remarks."
