The PBA and UFA conducted a news conference today on the steps of City Hall just prior to Pat Lynch and Steve Cassidy giving testimony to the City Council on the urgent need to equalize Tier 3 disability benefits. Among the several hundred police officers and firefighters who attended a group of Tier 3 police officers who were all injured in the line of duty including: Rosa Rodriguez, James Li and Ken Healey. The Comptroller and Public Advocate for the City spoke of the absolute need to correct this problem. City council members and State Assemblyman Peter Abbate, who sponsored special legislation in Albany, all speak strongly in support of the legislation.
