NYPD officer who was shot by parolee in Queens is released from hospital
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in the Daily News, NY Post, amNY, ABC 7 News, NBC 4 News, New York 1, and CBS radio. Hendry said the criminal justice system is “failing New Yorkers. When (this officer) responded to that robbery in progress, he confronted this individual and he didn’t know what he was confronting. He didn’t know he was confronting someone who was arrested 17 times…and someone who was arrested seven times while he was on lifetime parole. Why was he out on the street? Each time he was arrested, why wasn’t he remanded?”

Mayor Adams names DSNY chief Jessica Tisch as new Police Commissioner
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in the Daily News, Newsday, Politico, Gothamist NY Times, Fox 5 News and 1010 WINS: “…The challenges confronting police officers remain the same. We are critically understaffed, massively overworked and completely unsupported by a justice system and an oversight regime that care more about punishing cops than helping us get dangerous criminals off the streets.”

Hero cop kills two-time suspected robber in dramatic shootout on NYC street as hundreds flee
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in the NY Post, amNY and CBS 2 News, NBC 4 News, and CBS News radio: “I can tell you this — all New Yorkers, you can depend on New York City police officers to do our jobs. We will continue to take dangerous criminals off the streets. We have your back. I can tell you who doesn’t have your back — our criminal justice system. It continues to let us down every single day. New York City police officers are sick and tired of being assaulted on the streets. It has to end. We need all New Yorkers once and for all to demand change in our criminal justice system.”

Man who shot rookie cop over bus seat dispute in Queens found guilty of attempted murder
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in the Daily News and Newsday: “This case could not have been any clearer. This individual was carrying a loaded gun on our streets. He attacked an innocent bus passenger for no reason. He was determined to get away with those crimes at any cost, even if it meant murdering a New York City police officer. He didn’t succeed thanks to the courage and skill of our brother Brett Boller and his fellow police officers. We’re grateful that he is being held accountable with this verdict. Now he must receive the longest sentence the law allows.”
