Funeral services set for Bronx cop slain in Midtown mass shooting
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in amNY: “Our brother should have gone home to the Bronx last night to embrace his family. Instead, his fellow New York City police officers are carrying him home, and we are going to embrace his family as if they are our own.”

Didarul Islam hailed as a hero after deadly Park Avenue mass shooting
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in the NY Post, amNY, and in the opening of the amNY editorial: “P.O. Didarul Islam was a hero from the moment he put on our uniform. When pure evil showed up on his post last night, he stood between that evil and innocent people. Police officers are mourning him as a friend and co-worker, but we ask all New Yorkers to honor him as the hero he was.”

NYPD officer among 4 killed in midtown mass shooting
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in the NY Post: “This is a devastating night for our city, for our police department. Pure evil came to the heart of our city and struck innocent people. Judge allows NYPD cops facing termination over background questions to stay on job, for now
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in the NY Post: “We’re grateful to the judge for taking this case seriously, understanding that these are 31 police officers’ lives. Their livelihood. You’re fired,’ That is wrong.”

PBA lawsuit blocks NYPD’s unjust attempt to force dozens of officers to resign after faulty hiring standards
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in the NY Post: “We [are] grateful for the pause in these unjust firings, but this is only the first step. They did nothing wrong. It is not their fault that their hiring was tainted by a rogue inspector and arbitrary process. In many cases, they were initially disqualified for minor issues and may have been hired on appeal if given the opportunity to do so. Many of these police officers have served with distinction.”

Parole Board to consider releasing triggerman in 1988 assassination of rookie NYPD cop Edward Byrne
PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in the Daily News: “It is absolutely disgraceful that anyone would speak up in support of releasing this cold-blooded assassin,” Hendry said. “When he pulled the trigger, he didn’t just murder a hero police officer. Eddie’s murder united this city to reclaim our neighborhoods from murderous drug gangs. We can’t allow these pro-criminal activists or the Parole Board to erase that progress by setting this cop killer free.”

PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted in amNY: “He did that extra kick. He went, New York City Police Officer, ‘I’m gonna kick him and make sure he stays down.’ Officer Nafees continues to suffer from sight issues. He’s still having a lot of issues seeing blurred vision, in a lot of pain. Going outside with the light bothers him.”

PBA President Patrick Hendry is quoted the NY Post: “This sentence sends the message we desperately need. Anyone who attacks a New York City police officer should expect swift justice and a very long stay in prison.”
