NYC PBA president reacts to the verdict in the murders of Detectives Parker and Rafferty

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said:

“We are gratified by this guilty verdict and we thank the jury who had the courage to weigh the evidence and come to a unanimous decision. I can’t help wonder though, if New York State had an active death penalty if Detectives Parker and Rafferty would be alive today. The law must instill a fear of swift and harsh punishment in order to be an effective deterrent to violent criminal acts.”
