PRESS RELEASE

April 24, 2006

Pat Lynch reacts to to sentencing of cop-shooter William Hodges

PBA President Pat Lynch said:

"This 25-year sentence sends a strong message that there is a heavy price to pay for shooting a police officer. The PBA is also pleased that the conviction and sentencing of William Hodges demonstrates how much of an anti-police bias Judge Laura Blackburne had when she wrongfully dismissed charges against this attempted cop-killer. Justice has been served and New York City will be safer because of it.
