PBA reacts to proposed civilianization

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said:

“Historically, we know that civilianization has never worked.  At very best, it’s a temporary band-aid approach to replacing the 7,000 officers that the NYPD has lost since 2001.  We are in dire need of thousands of more police officers on our streets and the only way to accomplish that goal is to commit funds to hiring more police officers.”
