PBA President on the latest disability proposal by the Mayor

PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said:

“Once again, the Mayor conjures up yet another disability proposal out of thin air that is inadequate and shortsighted. For 75 years, police officers and firefighters accepted the extreme risks of their jobs knowing that they and their families would be cared for should they suffer a permanently disabling injury. Anything less that the full restoration of the Tier 2 disability benefits is inadequate and will not provide the assurance that we need to take those risks.”
