PBA President's statement on the appointment of John Siegal to the CCRB

PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said: 

“While the City Charter clearly states nominees should be independent, the Mayor continues to appoint activists and advocates who lack the necessary independence to adjudicate these cases fairly. His appointees have demonstrated an anti-police pattern which doesn’t help our police officers, but also is toxic for our City as a whole. We hope to one day get a fair shake from this Mayor, but his actions thus far give us no confidence that will happen.”
